Sparklys Hard Seltzer + Gin = Sparklys OriGin. The explosive mix for your cocktail party
For this post, we want to look at one of our favorite mixtures with Sparklys Hard Seltzer. With Gin Seltzer, the "hard" is replaced by gin, which really packs a punch. A spicy flavor bouquet that takes no prisoners. You either love it or hate it.
Gin Sparklys is dangerous; deadly, one might almost say. Following the principle: in correct doses, a poison becomes a remedy — in an overdose, every remedy becomes a poison. We strongly recommend a high-quality gin so that the near-death experience the next morning isn't quite as devastating, should you have overindulged. Sparklys Gin is a drink for those who like to combine extremes: gin, a spirit steeped in history that divides opinions, and Sparklys Hard Seltzer, the light alcoholic refreshment whose history we are still writing, but which is almost just as much a matter of taste. The fact is — Sparklys combines perfectly with gin. Due to the subtle taste of Sparklys Hard Seltzer, the gin really comes into its own — refreshingly boozy.
The imagination knows no bounds
In self-experiments, we discovered that classic Gin Tonic recipes harmonize beautifully — simply use Sparklys Hard Seltzer instead of tonic water and voilà.

Recipe for 1 glass:
- 4 ice cubes
- 50 ml premium gin
- 100 ml Sparklys Hard Seltzer
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice
- 1 wedge of lemon or lime
- (Optional: a few juniper berries for the look and a hint of flavor)
- Place ice cubes in a tall, narrow glass in style. Add gin, Sparklys, lime juice, and decoration over the ice in that order and stir well with a long spoon — serve immediately and enjoy. Cheers!
Gin Facts and Trivia
The base of gin consists of juniper. With the addition of various other herbs and plants, an extremely wide range of flavor nuances opens up. Gin originally stems from a medicinal spirit produced across Europe by monks and alchemists. Due to restrictions on the import of French brandy during the conflicts in the early 17th century, England was forced to improvise. Genever, also a product based on juniper and initially used as medicine, was already widely known at that time.
A relatively simple manufacturing process enabled England's master brewers to experiment and they began producing their own versions. A few decades later, the drink became known as gin throughout the country and by the 18th century had become the national drink of the Brits.
Ever more unusual creations led to gin advancing from a commoner's spirit to the aperitif of the upper classes. Today, gin is arguably one of the most diverse spirits with various variations: fruity, floral, spicy, sweet, tart — one would think everyone could find something they like; provided you like juniper. A study by the University of Innsbruck showed that psychopaths like the taste of gin. The psychologists also found that they generally prefer bitter tastes: this also includes chocolate, arugula, and coffee. (Seen in that light, are most of us a little psycho?)
